Get Involved

and make a difference

Volunteers have been the foundation of JPV since the humble beginnings over 30 years ago. Our volunteers continue to enhance and enrich the quality of life of residents; contribute to the attainment of our Mission; and complement the work done by paid staff.

The time donated by our volunteers means our community receives life changing benefits. Residents receive increased well-being, new friendships and ongoing contact with people who care. Of course our volunteers are supported too. As a JPV volunteer you will receive orientation and ongoing training opportunities, support from the Volunteers Coordinator, regular updates and information through various forms of communication.

JPV volunteers experience community, satisfaction, flexibility and variety in their role.

Enjoy Variety

We understand that everyone has something different to give – and it’s this diversity that makes our thriving community so special. Whatever your interests may be there are a variety of volunteer opportunities to choose from. These include:

  • Companionship and conversations with residents
  • Feeding or serving meals to residents
  • Assisting with group activities such as bingo, crafts, or singing with residents
  • Taking residents on outings
  • Spiritual support such as pastoral care, bible study, rosary or prayer groups
  • Event support including cooking a BBQ etc.
  • Assisting with fundraising activities, assisting with surveys
